Activating My Faith

Posted on January 18, 2017 at 6:19 PM Comments comments ()

Romans 10:17 – “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God,”
The activating of our faith can’t be separated from God’s Word, it is the establishing of the believer’s faith. In a devotional by Rick Warren, he states the believer can’t expect an instantaneous response in the development of our faith simply because we do not possess the capacity to handle all of God’s promises at once. It really does take time as we connect to God’s Word.

Faith is strengthened through the repetition of God’s Word in our daily walk. Repetition is what helps to activate the movement of our faith to help us withstand the test of time. In Exodus 23:29-30, God is saying to the Israelites, “You know these enemies? They’re bigger than you. But I’m not going to give you the whole land in the first year. You’re going to take it over a little bit at a time — one battle at a time. You’re growing stronger. When you’re strong enough to handle it all, you’ll get it all.” Can we hear God’s Word in the midst of our trusting him?  What promise from God are you holding on to now? Take the time to allow the Word to put our faith into action.

Eternal God,
Your Word carries life! It sustains our very being and for this I give You glory! Allow my heart to continue to be attentive to every word from You that preserves every promise reserved for me and everyone who is connected to my life. Give me hearing to understand Your heart for us and a transforming faith that will bless my children’s children.  Your Word declares that heaven and earth will pass away, but Your word will forever stand. Thank You for the very Word that outlasts my circumstances…

In Jesus’ Name.

Who you with?

Your worth is not determined by your "connections." Your worth is determined by the REAL FRIENDS who stay with you...after the "connected" people drop you!!

As you move through your season of transition, be diligent in surrounding yourself with people that are supportive in good and rough times. Who you are in God and your worth will only be fallible if you allow yourself to be gullible! Appreciate those who have the ability to see your worth at your lowest and still call you Anointed in the midst of your valley.

Growing UP with the right heart

As I reflect on my efforts to finalize the last (and most strenuous) phase of earning my doctoral degree, I continue to be stunned at how many within the Body of Christ have developed exclusive circles of "outreach." I'm thinking of how many people would be shocked or surprised when they learn that an individual's public persona and private personality don't always match.
Even in the midst of my own discoveries, I remain determined not to allow myself to GROW UP in GOD only to allow my compassion to SHRINK UP for other leaders with smaller ministries. My truest desire is not necessarily for a "mega church," but a desire to do MEGA MINISTRY, and not leave anyone out.  Here are just a few principles that guide my thoughts and actions;
  • The GRACE that God gives us to do what we do, is NOT really for us, but for others.
  • PRIDE is deceptive. It causes us to believe that we act small, and still look BIG!
  • You'll never experience the blessings of change, if you obligate yourself to making your current surroundings comfortable.
  • I would rather be a FLAWED MASTERPIECE instead of being rejected as a PERFECT COUNTERFEIT.
Until next time....

Real Struggles...Certain Victory

Real Struggle….Certain Victory

Struggles are a part of our continuous walk in life.  Factually, we all face them, all of us. Sohere are a few thoughts to share.

No matter how bad issues get or how much you may fall, focuson God’s love for you in Christ.

If you are still here, then it means you lived through it!That’s a BLESSING because survivors NEVER leave empty handed!!

God allowed you to see the enemy’s plan unfold before youreyes and kept you in the midst of it…CELEBRATE!!!

Your Assignment is greater than the assault, that’s whyyou’re facing the assault. Don’t worry…you will be left standing!

Never lose your ability to HEAR, everything that Godpromised the people of Israel was connected to their ability to HEAR the voiceof the Lord. You can’t have it, if you won’t HEAR it!!

HEAR your victory in the midst of your struggle…IT’S THERE!!

Declare a Victim-Less Victory

Declare a “Victim-less” Victory…..

As I read through my social network pages, I often come across the many tweets or Facebook status updates that highlight an individual’s attention to their “haters.” I’m at a place of wondering….when does the role of victim end and the one in victory begin? I am not ignoring or dismissing the fact that many of US have been hurt or faced disappointments by the actions of others.  That is a definite truth!!  But what I’m also learning on this journey is that many have positioned themselves as victims because of SELF-INFLICTED wounds. Whatever the case may be…..NOW IS THE TIME TO HEAL AND MOVE ON! How?Let’s start here:

  • If you are still here…then you SURVIVED!! Even though “they” tried to Break you down, God allowed you to survive with the Broken Pieces! (Acts 27:43-44)Celebrate that, not them!!

  • “Your continued existence is proof those who left you did not sustain you, it was simply an overestimation of value!” ….. Apostle, Dr. Kobee S. Fitzgerald

  •  Always playing the role of the victim does not represent the Gospel of Christ. Humbly declaring Victory represents who HE IS!!

  • Everybody IS NOT  a hater! People would actually have to be paying attention to you, to be called a hater. They're not that into you....

  • Leaders/Pastors...there will always be rumors. Stay true to God's Vision for you and allow the rumors to be free advertisement!!

If you are truly going to be healed and delivered, then allow the iTRUTHto be your guide. Some of usneed to admit:

  •  I tore up my family.

  •  I disrupted my marriage.

  •  I lost my job.

  •  I lied…first.

  •  “I”……not totally them!!

People can believe that they are truly moving forward when they try to attack or avoid those who they think hurt them.  That’s a false sense of healing….Let’s do better and DECLARE A VICTIM-LESS VICTORY!!

Be the BLESSING

I John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

People who try to "take you down" with gossip have no clue of what you could "shut down" for them with prayer. Overcome them and pray for them anyway.

Open Your Mouth

We must remember that our voices are needed in the movement of our faith.  Your voice carries WEIGHT! Our voices contains the sound of our Expectation! Now is the time to PUT YOUR FAITH IN THE AIR! Speak God's Word!!

Gifted and Tormented....The need for Grace

Posted on February 15, 2012 at 11:17 AM Comments comments ()
The very untimely death of Whitney Houston has once again highlighted the fact that being gifted does not exclude facing torment. Those that are gifted are the most exposed to the snares of various addictions, depression, and other mental digressions that causes an internalization of a negative reality. Many people have the notion that being gifted is a shield, but the reality is...it's really a bull's eye.
The truth is that the "Gifted" has to be allowed to be in the same position of Grace as those who consider themselves "whole." For many, the need for Grace's extension somehow seems to bypass the gifted as if Grace is not needed. Many believers are often misled and dismissive in relating to a person's private struggles. It's overwhelming when public presentation is matchless, but secretly living a personal hell, publicly.   So very grateful that Grace has been a life-line when my life is truly on The line!  With  that being said, here are some things we should rememberconcerning Grace:
• Grace is the Infalliable, Unmerited, and Unconditional proof that God REALLY DOES LOVE US!
• Grace amazes me. It amazes me that I'm still one of God's options. He yet chooses & uses me in spite of me. Oh what Grace!
• Stay in your place of GRACE, because God's love will cover your imperfections so people won't discover your imperfections.
•When you trust God, He'll even use your shortcomings to produce His expected outcome! His strength is made perfect in your weakness. GRACE does that!
• GRACE is EXTRAVAGANT! It must be in order to convince us that God is more interested in loving us to Him than losing us to hell. Just ask the woman with the alabaster box!

Determined

Posted on January 2, 2012 at 12:26 PM Comments comments ()
Determined…
Determination is a positional attitude that understands the need to press our way through.  It demonstrates a strength that says “I will get back up; I can let it go; and I do walk in God’s Favor.” Determination will give a different perspective in 2012. Keep these thoughts in mind:
  • The fact that you still believe in HIM despite your issues, has just qualified you for HIS Favor!
  • God definitely does not make mistakes..but I love how He always fixes mine!! God CAN do it for you.
  •  Don’t let your dreams fade just because others don’t see what you see.  Your dream may be what God uses to restore their sight!
  • The weight of your Anointing will NEVER allow you to stay down….GET UP!!
Finally…..
“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD!” ( Ps. 118:17)
BE DETERMINED!!

Getting Ready For Your Next

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 11:19 AM Comments comments ()
For the past few weeks the book of Exodus has been our central theme for our teaching series "Getting Ready For Your Next." Exodus (to exit) details how God is able to transition His people from the worst situations, into their place of promise.

Here are just a few thoughts that were gleamed from chapter 12 that will hopefully be a blessing as we transition from 2011 into the new year.

Even if you find yourself in Egypt, stay focused, IT IS NOT YOUR PLACE OF PROMISE.
Some of the issues you encountered in 2011 was not always because of your faults, some of it is because of your FAITH.

You will never "come out" until you depend on God to "Get In."

The heart of your enemy will try to hide their real intentions. Trust me, deceit came be camaflouged, but sooner or later it will show itself.

God had to give the people something to remind them of how HE delivered them...the Passover. Always remember to celebrate the BLOOD OF THE LAMB! Remind yourself..."I'm Covered!"
When God says "its time" get your stuff and move!!

Finally, know that whatever you may have encountered in 2011 was for your good. The enemy may have initiated your move, but God is in control of your outcome. See you next week.
